The Red Party is a hypothetical and theoretical opposition party to the libertarian socialist-leaning Workers' Party of Antarctica. It does not exist and therefore has no formal name, leadership, platform, or organization.

Background and Theory Edit

In the earliest history of the United States, a conflict quickly arose between federal and state. Federalists favored a strong central government, while Anti-Federalists favored greater power to the states. Over the years, the two distinct sides gradually evolved into today's Democratic and Republican parties and a clearly-defined division between "right" and "left".

The Federated States, being a nation settled by left-wing progressives and socialists, is unlikely to be divided along the same political lines as the United States. Thus, there is not likely to be a pro-capitalist, "right-wing" major party in the FSA that is analogous to the GOP (though such a party would very likely form as a third party). The earliest division is likely instead to be between the state and the collective. The Workers' Party of Antarctica is a party that favors limited, minimal government, a particular focus on individual liberty and rights, and the means of production owned and operated by the workers (the collective, embodied by the state corporation). Thus, the WPA favors small government and a large and powerful collective of, by, and for the workers.

The Red Party, in contrast, is more of a statist, traditionally Marxist-Leninist party that favors a collective in the form of a strong state. It is the Red Communist Party as understood by most of the world, except for the fact that it exists within a culture with a tradition of individual freedom and democracy.

Comparisons Edit
